A Summer to Remember

A beautiful Summer in Caithness is drawing to a close. Its been our first full season in the Last House. Well, the first season that has not been heavily disrupted by COVID; so its been a great experience for all of us.

Our Visitors

Many great days have been had in the new bar.  We have had countless interesting characters coming through our doors and telling us stories of their various journeys up to John O’Groats.  The brewery has hosted marriages, welcomed celebrity appearances and marathon exploits and guested on unexpected television shows.  And of course we have welcomed many, many happy holiday makers.  Thank you to each and everyone of you for making us a part of your travels.

Our Staff

We have said hello to our fabulous shop and bar manager Christine and have welcomed many great Summer staff on board, some of whom have left us again to continue their studies for another year.  Very best wishes to Stuart, Mara, Emma, Luke and Sarah.  Hope your studies go well and thank you for all your help this season.  We couldn’t have done it without you.  Special mention to Mara who started her brewing journey with us, and is now training up to be a brewer herself.  She recently finished her initial brewing training down in London; Congratulations.

Our Passion

Summer may be drawing to a close but there is no rest for the wicked (that’s John and Allan I am referring to of course).

A new bottling plant is ordered and we hope to install it at Groats as soon as this season draws to a close. Roll up those sleeves chaps.

Theres plans afoot for a range of new drinks and we hope to delve into a range of interesting events through the Autumn and Winter to keep us all entertained throughout those looooo0ooong Caithness nights.

Watch this space and the Facebook pages for more information.

Cheers for now
